Flat Fee vs. AUM Fee Calculator
Most advisors charge a percentage of the assets they manage, typically around 1% a year. Rinzler Capital charges a flat annual fee set by tier, not a percentage. This calculator shows what that difference means in dollars over time. Change any number to match your situation.

How this works and what it assumes. Both scenarios start with the same assets, add the same contributions each year, and earn the same return before fees. In the AUM scenario, the fee is charged on the year-end balance; in the flat-fee scenario, the flat fee is deducted from the account the same way. With the Rinzler Capital schedule selected, the fee for each year is the tier that matches that year’s balance ($6,500 under $1 million, $8,500 from $1 million, $12,500 from $2 million, $15,500 from $3 million), and the tier amounts are assumed to grow 3% per year with inflation; a custom flat fee grows the same way. The “total fees paid” figures are the fees themselves; the difference in ending wealth is larger because fees paid early also lose the growth they would have earned. This is a simplified, hypothetical illustration for educational purposes only. It is not a projection of any actual client’s results, does not reflect taxes or investment costs such as fund expense ratios, and assumes a constant return, which real markets do not provide. AUM fees often decline at higher asset levels; enter the rate you have been quoted.
